How Donations Are Used
Pound Pals pays veterinarians directly on behalf of the people who ask for help. With no paid staff or office space, our all-volunteer group has very low administrative costs. We use lower-cost services and partner veterinarians in the St. Louis area and where we can find them, but in many rural areas, we often have to pay much more, where resources are scarce and the need is so great. As more people hear about us, this is rapidly becoming our niche, as southeast Missouri in particular has many deserts of inexpensive veterinary care. While we are proud to help with this need, it makes our expenses increase exponentially every year.
The most humane and effective way of managing the stray animal population is through mass spay/neuter and vaccination. You can be part of the solution. Your gift of can help neuter a cat or a dog and will prevent many more animals from suffering.
